Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Declutter AI (“Declutter”, “we”, “us”), operated from Lagos, Nigeria, including the marketplace at getdeclutter.com and any partner storefront hosted on our platform. By creating an account or placing an order you agree to them.

1. What Declutter is

Declutter is a marketplace that connects buyers with sellers of used and new items. We are not the seller of the items listed unless a listing expressly says so. Sellers are responsible for their items, their descriptions and their prices.

2. Accounts

You must give accurate information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to transact.

3. Orders and payment

Depending on the seller, one of two flows applies, and the checkout tells you which:

• Commission online, balance on collection. You pay the Declutter service fee online. We then share the seller’s contact so you can arrange collection and pay the item price directly to the seller. Declutter does not hold the item price in this flow.
• Full payment held until inspection. You pay the item price plus the service fee online. Funds are released to the seller after a short inspection window, or sooner if you confirm the item is fine.

Prices are shown in Nigerian Naira. Payments are processed by our payment partner. The service fee is shown before you pay and is non-refundable once an order is placed, except where required by law or where we cancel the order ourselves.

4. Inspection

Where offered, you may add a paid inspection at checkout. Our team examines the item and reports what we find. Inspection is a good-faith check, not a warranty; it does not transfer ownership or guarantee a latent-fault-free item.

5. Delivery

Where offered, delivery is fulfilled by third-party couriers arranged through our logistics partner. The delivery price quoted at checkout is set by the courier for your address, plus a fixed handling fee, and is shown to you before you pay. Delivery times are estimates given by the courier. Risk in the item passes to you on delivery or collection.

6. Prohibited items and conduct

You may not list or trade illegal, stolen, counterfeit, hazardous or restricted items, and you may not use Declutter to defraud, harass or mislead. We may remove listings and suspend accounts that break these rules.

7. Fees

Declutter charges a service commission and may charge fixed fees for inspection and delivery handling. The fees applicable to an order are shown before you pay.

8. Disputes between buyers and sellers

Because the seller owns and hands over the item, disputes about condition or delivery are primarily between you and the seller. We will help mediate and, where the full-payment flow applies, we can withhold or reverse a release while a dispute is open. Contact us promptly if something is wrong.

9. Liability

We provide the platform “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for the acts of sellers, buyers or couriers, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new date. Continuing to use Declutter after a change means you accept it.
